Head Coach Howen of the 2018 JJ Pearce High School Cross Country team is a 2012 graduate of JJ Pearce! Everyone is quite proud to have Coach Howen in her first year back to JJ Pearce as a teacher and Head Coach. She has been teaching and coaching for the last 2 years at Highland Park High School after running in college for the University of Alabama and the University of Texas.
Coach Lindsay Ledford was in her 3rd year of teaching math and coaching cross country and track at Pearce High School. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University, receiving her BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in physical education. She competed in half marathons regularly throughout college and was a member of her high school track and cross country teams in Round Rock where she grew up. Lindsay is married to Ryan Ledford, a Berkner High School alumn. Ryan is in his 3rd year at McKinney High School teaching math and coaching baseball and football.
Coach Reid is in 8th year of teaching world history and coaching basketball. Along with basketball, he has coached track, baseball, and football. This will be his second year with cross country. He is a former Pearce graduate and went on to earn his degree in education at Baylor University. Coach Reid is married to his wife, Lauren, another Pearce graduate. They have a daughter, Milly, who is 2 years old and she is excited about being a Mustang. They also welcomed their second daughter, Peyton, into the family last summer. In his spare time, Coach Reid enjoys spending time with his family.
